With Calger’s Home Office being in El Paso, Texas, on the border with Mexico, there is generally not a shortage of translators in the border area. But as Calger’s products and clientele expanded throughout Texas and New Mexico we saw a need to fulfill a greatly needed service to our credit unions and communities.

Having staff with over 50 years of experience in Spanish/English translations and interpretations for Immigration and County Courts, educational institutions of higher learning, elections, and individuals, it was a natural transition to include this valuable service in our portfolio of products.

The increase of Spanish speaking people throughout our country and the credit union philosophy of “people helping people” has opened up a greater need for financial services to this population. This has increased the need for bi-lingual personnel to take care of those needs. Unfortunately, many credit unions or communities have limited resources and do not have access to qualified Spanish speakers.

While many people have a speaking knowledge of English/Spanish, many are lacking in the ability to formally write in a language that is not their first language. Calger has assisted credit unions in translating documents, marketing, newsletters, medical records as well as handling in-person and telephone interpretations.
